The inmate is running the asylum

That's kind of what I feel like, starting this blog -- the inmate who suddenly finds herself running the place. I have a staff of one (me), a patient list of one (me), and a secretary (me). No need for a bookkeeper because there's no income.

I have a LiveJournal blog which I don't use often because LJ balks on me sometimes. And I have a book review blog which I will link to this one if I can figure out how to do it. The book review blog is at http://www.reviewsbyruth.wordpress.com/ , for anyone interested.

Blogging in general has baffled me. I can't ever think of anything brilliant or even very interesting to write and wonder why in the world anyone would read it. It's like those times we all have, when we can think of a stinging comeback to an unkind remark -- but we always think of it well after the other person has gone. While facing his fishy eyes, our mind goes blank. In other words, when the computer is off I can think of paragraph after paragraph of witty, scintillating, brilliant, etc. etc. comments on Life. In those unwritten and unspoken paragraphs is distilled all the wisdom of the last century! Nay, the brilliance of the last two centuries, all in the words of a little old lady from Illinois. And for anyone who believes that, contact me. I have a large parcel of swampland for sale...cheap.

Enough of this. This is the first post. I hope there will be others. Better ones.
